SUPPORTING VQA'S SKILLS VERIFICATION INCENTIVE MECHANISMS FOR TOURISM, ACCOMODATION, CATERING SERVICES SECTOR IN TURKEY (EBRD GRANT PROJECT)

As a result of mutual negotiations conducted between VQA and EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) regarding a potential cooperation, EBRD consented to provide a grant support to cover the testing fees of the individuals who would be eligible for receiving a VQA vocational qualification certificate in the tourism, accommodation, catering services sector.

A grant support of approximately EUR 230,000 will be provided for the certification of individuals in this sector within the scope of "Supporting VQA’s Skills Verification Incentive Mechanisms for Tourism, Accomodation, Catering Services Sector in Turkey Project" prepared in cooperation with VQA and EBRD. The cost of the consultancy service provided for conducting the grant process in the name of EBRD is covered by EBRD itself and the total budget of the project is EUR 270,000.

The full amount of the grant will be funded by EBRD and the project documents were signed between VQA and EBRD in July 2020. Following the assignment of the advisory team by EBRD, the preparation of the initial report, the distribution of funds among 9 authorized certification bodies that will benefit from the grant, and the signing of the protocols with the organizations, the actual implementation was started and the testing and certification process along with the grant payments was started as of 17.08.2021.
